Placebo effect is real

Article reads: According to one expert, a professor of complementary medicine, the ritual of giving a patient a remedy is clinically effective even if the patient has been told that the remedy is not a remedy. Another authority, a neuroscientist, says that mere cultural participation in a healing process can trigger and propel healing. The most interesting part of the experiment was that the patients didn’t even have to believe in the placebo effect so long as they took the pills.

If scam treatments come with real positive results as shown in the placebo effect, can these treatments be scams? Because the placebo effect is real in itself, that should be enough for the justification of alternative treatments that are as good as the placebo.
