Mindfulness meditation for IBS study



Article reads:Someone has finally done the study I have been hoping for for years, that of evaluating if mindfulness meditation can be helpful in easing the symptoms of IBS [Irritable bowel syndrome]. I have been a convert to mindfulness and meditation since I first started reading books by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. Although finding the time to sit quiet takes discipline, the rewards have been tremendous. Research on the benefits of mindfulness meditation has been conducted on other stress-affected illnesses, but up until now, I had not seen any in terms of IBS. This new study was presented recently at Digestive Disease Weel 2011, an annual conference that brings together researchers and physicians.
